OpenAI’s Sam Altman denies his sister’s allegations of sexual abuse against him

Sam Altman is the CEO of OpenAI. He published an article on January 7th, refuting allegations made by Annie Altman. She has filed a suit against him, accusing him of sexual abuse as a child.

In a letter co-signed with Sam Altman’s mother, X Network, Annie Altman made utterly false and hurtful statements about his family and Sam in particular.

In a letter co-signed with Sam Altman’s mother, two brothers and Network X, they claim that Annie has made false and hurtful allegations about their family and in particular Sam. They also add: “The most serious accusation is the one she made, which was she had been sexually abused as a young child by Sam. ”

Annie Altman filed a complaint on January 6, claiming that the assaults took place between 1997 when Annie was three years old and 2006. In this complaint, Annie Altman’s accusations include incidents which occurred while Sam was older than 18 years. The letter signatories maintain that all of these claims are false.

Years of tension

Annie Altman’s family wrote that “her claims had evolved significantly over time”. The letter stated that the young lady has accused members of her family “of wrongly withholding money from our father’s retirement savings[who passed away in 2018], hacking into his WiFi, and banning [unknowingly]” from various websites, such as ChatGPT. Twitter, etc. ”

In the letter, it is also stated that Annie Altman has “mental health problems”. Her family are “very concerned” for her wellbeing. The Altmans assure that they’ve tried to assist her financially. “Despite all of this, Annie still asks us for money.” The letter’s authors state that, following years of tension and the Monday complaint by the loved one, they decided to publicly respond.

In 2023, Sam Altman became a household name with the popularity of ChatGPT. This text-generating AI was launched by OpenAI and popularized AI applications. A 2023 report by New York Magazine (New Window) described Annie Altman as a depressed artist who supported herself mostly through online prostitution.
